Donkey hide gelatin

Donkey Hide Gelatin is a Chinese Traditional Medicine and herb. It's commonly used as a blood tonic, and is prevalent in many anti-aging and "fountain of youth" formulas^{[citation needed]}.

Donkey Hide Gelatin has been popular in China for hundreds of years^{[citation needed]}, and is finally getting recognition in the rest of the world because several products^{[clarification needed]} being launched containing the donkey hide gelatin as a primary ingredient.

The gelatin is extracted from the dry glue pieces made from the hide of a rare black-skinned donkey found in the remote mountainous region of Eastern China.

Known as one of the three Ancient Treasures of Chinese Medicine by Li Shizhen in the Compendium of Materia Medical, Donkey Hide Gelatin is obtained after a series of processes surrounding the hide: washing, soaking, plucking, rinsing and stewing.

Donkey Hide Gelatin is normally sold in the Shandong, Zhejiang and Fiangsu provinces, of China.

Under a new trade agreement with China, importation of Donkey Hide Gelatin to the US is now legal.^{[citation needed]}
