Mariano Garchitorena

Mariano Garchitorena was a Filipino politician of Spanish-French descent. He was born in Tigaon, Camarines Sur. He was known as Don Mariano C. Garchitorena. He was the son of Don Andres Garchitorena and a French lady, Margarite Chereau. He was married to Dona Caridad Pamintuan of Pampanga, and later to Dona Bregida Manley. He is the cousin of guerilla Major Don Tomas T. Garchitorena and the brother of the actor Salvador A. Garchitorena, grandfather of Anjo Yllana and Jomari Yllana. He is also the uncle of Justice Francis Garchitorena and the actor, Andres Centenera.

He was appointed by President Manuel Roxas as Secretary of Agriculture and Commerce. He later became ambassador to Spain. He was briefly Governor of Camarines Sur in 1945. [1]
