Dominic Brown (born 1980) is a British independent documentary filmmaker, based in London.

Projects

His first production was an undercover documentary called Forgotten Bird of Paradise, filmed in 2009 in the Indonesian province of West Papua. It details the ongoing struggle being fought for freedom by the indigenous people there. The film has been shown at festivals including Raindance[1].

Footage he shot in West Papua was also featured in an extended BBC Newsnight report[2] and on ABC News in Australia. He has also separately worked on reports with Channel 4 News relating to the torture of Papuan civilians by the Indonesian military.

In 2011 his film Forgotten Bird of Paradise was awarded 'Best Documentary' at the Dam Short Film Festival[3] in Boulder City, USA.
