Dolly Anwar (born as Dolly Ibrahim) was a famous actress of Bengali film. She was born to Nilima Ibrahim, a brave freedom fighter of the liberation war of Bangladesh of 1971.

Works

She is famous for "Surjo Dighar Bari", one of the best art films of the history of Bangladesh. Besides it, she had acted in several other films. Among them, "Dahan" is famous.

Cause of death

While the shooting of "Surjo Dighal Bari" was going on, she had fallen in love with Anwar Hussain, a reputed photographer. They married in 1979. In July 1991, he sent a divorce letter to her. She rejected to accept it, and committed suicide.
