Dogwood Initiative is a Canadian non-profit social justice and environmental organization based in Victoria, British Columbia. Conceived in autumn 1998 at a meeting of First Nations, environmentalists, community advocates, and labour leaders, Dogwood Initiative began operating in 1999[1]. The organizations goal is to help communities and First Nations gain more control of the land and resources around them so they can be managed in a way that does not rob future generations for short-term corporate gain.
