It lies in the Ložničko gričevje hills to the north of Polzela and to the south of Velenje. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Styria. The municipality is now included in the Savinja statistical region.[2]
The local church, built on the top of Mount Oljka to the west of the settlement, is dedicated to the Holy Cross and belongs to the Polzela parish. It was built between 1754 and 1757 and has trefoil nave with a double belfry.[3]
