It lies on the southern edge of the municipality, to the northeast of Žužemberk. The area is part of the historical Lower Carniola region. The municipality is now included in the Southeast Slovenia statistical region.[2]
The local church is dedicated to the Mther of God and belongs to the Dobrnič parish. It is a Gothic building with remnants of 14th century frescos on the exterior walls. It was retzled in the Baroque in the second half of the 17th century.[3]
