Dirpy was a free online service that allowed users to download and transcode YouTube videos.^[1] The service was shut down on November 7, 2010 with Dirpy stating that they lacked the "resources to continue improving and growing Dirpy in the manner you all deserve."^[2]

Dirpy also included facebook and twitter share links and a Dirpy bookmarklet.^[3]

The service, which was in Beta, was popular at the time and described as easy to use.^[4][5][6] Dirpy announced that the service will be relaunching on October 3rd,2011.
