Dirk Meyer (born 1977 in Düsseldorf, Germany) is a conductor active in the United States of America since 2002.

Current position
Meyer was recently promoted to Associate Conductor of the Sarasota Orchestra where he has been since 2006. Meyer previously served as assistant conductor to the Sarasota Orchestra [1] and music director of the Sarasota Youth Orchestras. He also appears frequently as guest conductor, especially with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.[2] In 2011 Meyer will be guest conducting with the Toronto Symphony, [3] the Springfield Symphony (MA), [4] as well as with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra in Minnesota. [5]
Former positions
Prior to these appointments Meyer held music director positions with the Mason Symphony and the Art Nouveau Chamber Orchestra (MI) and assistant positions with the Traverse Symphony (MI) and Missouri Symphony Orchestra.
Specialization
An advocate for 'new music' Meyer is actively involved in the promotion of new music through performance and commissioning of new compositions.
Publications
He is also the author of Chamber Orchestra and Ensemble Repertoire. A Catalog of Modern Music (Scarecrow Press, 2011).[6]
