Director Caleb Emerson has worked on several productions for Troma Entertainment and met many of his crew members while working on the film Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV, causing many fans to believe that Die You Zombie Basards! was produced by Troma. In fact Troma had nothing to do with the film's production. However, Troma's founder Lloyd Kaufman has been a friend and supporter of Zombastic for many years. In 2008, Kaufman directed a music video for the Los Angeles indie rock band Not the Government called "Midnight" which was produced, photographed and edited by Caleb Emerson.[citation needed]
As of 2009, The film is distributed in North America by Image Entertainment, in the United Kingdom by Odeon Entertainment and is represented for other foreign sales by Maxim Media.[citation needed]
