The Dick Connor A.C.E. (Adversity Conquered through Excellence) Award was established in 1993 by The Denver Post to honor former sports columnist Dick Connor, who died in 1992.[1] It is awarded annually to a Colorado high-school senior who has overcome a handicap, hardship or tragedy to excel at sports.[2][3]
