Dick McCann Memorial Award

Not to be confused with Dick McCann, Australian TV personality.

The Dick McCann Memorial Award is bestowed annually by the Pro Football Hall of Fame "for long and distinguished reporting on professional football".^[1] The award was created in 1969 and is named for Dick McCann, who was the first director of the Hall of Fame. Presentation of the award is made annually at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinees Dinner.^[1]

The list of McCann Award honorees^[2] is sometimes referred to as the "writer's wing" of the Hall of Fame.^[3]
