Dholidhaja Dam

Dholidhaja dam is situated in Surendranagar city and in the urban area of Surendranagar Dudhrej Municipality in the state of Gujarat in India.

Its the main water source for the Surendranagar and Wadhwan Cities and another twin cities named Joravarnagar and Ratanpar.

This dam is providing daily drinking water to 3,00,000 to 4,00,000 people belonging to the mentioned cities.

Location

It is located on the river Bhogavo which is called as a dry river. it is located in the west side of the city Surendranagar, thre are two proper ways to reach Dholidhaja Dam, One is via Muli Highway and one is via Dalmill-Khamisana road in the city.

Tourism

On the date 26 January 2010, time of state level celebration of Republic day in Surendranagar, The chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi said that Dholidhaja Dam will be developed as a tourist place in the city. He also said that there will be a planning to plant 60,000 trees on that sight, The government will establish there a water park, gym and many more for development of place of interest.
