Members

SKD2 consists of members Scott Beatty (S), Kirk Dunkle (K), Dylan Shaw (D), and Devin Nelson (2). It has since gained two members - Fropi Dunkle, and Brendon Calzada - but, has retained "SKD2".

Biography

Founded in Clovis, California in June 2004, SKD2 was the inadvertent product of a collaborative film project titled "A Man and His Lamp". The group was formed when members Scott Beatty, Kirk Dunkle, and Dylan Shaw, filmed the aptly named parody of a man (played by Kirk Dunkle), and his relationship with his companion, a reading lamp. Shortly after the creation of "A Man and His Lamp", Beatty's cousin - Devin Nelson - was adopted into the group, and SKD2 was born.

After "A Man and His Lamp" the group took a sabbatical from film, and instead shifted focus to flash animation.

Leading the transition into this alternate form of media, Dylan Shaw, the group's youngest member, began by animating two short fight sequences - "Fight" and "Fight 2". Shortly following, the group produced several others, including Devin Nelson's "Hooray", and Scott Beatty's "Duel of the Century". Kirk Dunkle's satirical series "Pie", "Ice Cream", and "Coconut", released in the wake of the 2004 presidential debates, created a stark contrast to the group's previously insouciant attitude.

Nelson began the steps back towards film when he and fellow friend and classmate, Brendon Calzada, enrolled in their high school's digital video class in fall of 2005. Fall of 2006 marked the end of the group's film hiatus when the rest of the members followed suit.

The group's first film in their reunited state "Tears in October", also marked the addition of member Brendon Calzada, with the group's second film "The Three Musketeers" marking the appearance of Fropi Dunkle.

With all members now accounted for, SKD2 began making the bulk of their career films.

In June 2008, members Scott Beatty, Devin Nelson, and Brendon Calzada all graduated from Sierra High School, leaving behind Dylan Shaw, and Fropi and Kirk Dunkle who still attended.

Currently all six members still live in, or around, the Clovis area. The three that graduated in 2008 are attending CSU Fresno, while the remaining three continue their high school education. The group all maintains membership in SKD2, but until further notice has postponed active cinematography.

Movies

The group has made many short movies, among which are : "Tears in October", "Three Musketeers", "A Man and his Lamp" (Trailer), "Scury Movie 5", "The Fight", and "Johnny Rainbow : Justice Enforcer".

Some of their flash animations include "Pirates vs. Ninjas", "Hurray", "Pie", "William Tell", "Duckhunt", and "Star Moose".
