Desiree Davila

Desiree Nicole Davila (born July 26, 1983) is an American long-distance track runner.

In the Road Running World Championships 2006 in Debrecen she finished in 43rd place and 2007 in Udine in 34th. In 2008, Davila finished second at the Houston Half Marathon and ran her personal best time of 1:12:10.

Her first appearance in a marathon was at the Boston Marathon in 2007, where she placed 19th in 2:44:56. This time qualified her for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Marathon Team Trials.^[1] At the U.S. Olympic Trials in Boston in 2008, she finished 13th in 2:37:50. At the Chicago Marathon in the same year, Davila finished 5th in 2:31:33.

She ran a well-planned race at the 2011 Boston Marathon, finishing in 2nd place by 2 seconds and setting a 4 minute PR. Her time of 2:22:38 is the fastest time ever run by an American woman in the Boston Marathon.

Desiree Davila was born in Chula Vista, California. She graduated from Hilltop High School in 2001 and studied psychology at the Arizona State University.^[2]
