Desalination Recovery Rate

Desalination Recovery Rate

The Desalination recovery rate is the product water recovery relative to the input water flow.

In simpler terms, if a desalination plant was said to have a recovery rate of 15% that would mean that for every 100 US gallons (380 L) of ocean water that came into the plant, 15 US gallons (57 L) of fresh water would be produced. The remainder is waste brine solution containing dissolved solids.
