Derek Macdonald Cooper [1] is a British journalist who writes about food, wine and whisky.[2]
Born on 25 May 1925 [3] and educated at Portree High School and Wadham College, Oxford, after World War II service with the Royal Navy he was with Radio Malaya until 1960. Since then he has written, amongst others, for The Listener, The Observer, Home & Garden and Saga Magazine. He was a Founder Member and first Chairman of the Guild of Food Writers.
