Department of War Studies, KCL

The Department of War Studies at King's College London is a political and military research and teaching facility, considered a world leader in the quality of its work output[1][2], as well as for the career prospects of its graduates[3].[not in citation given] It is a department of the school of Social Science and Public Policy at King's College London, and is affiliated with numerous leading think-tanks and foreign policy institutions[4].

Teaching Staff

The War Studies department boasts a staff that includes many who are regularly sought by external institutions (be they governmental or media) for their expertise and opinions[5]. One such example includes Sir Lawrence Freedman, who currently[when?] sits on the ongoing Iraq Inquiry panel, and who was a foreign policy advisor to former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair[6].

Courses

The department offers a range of courses, both undergraduate and postgraduate, that cover contemporary political and historical topics. The department also runs remote postgraduate courses, such as its on-line War in the Modern World MA.
