Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) is a non-profit organization that supports Denver-based community gardens.

Organization

Denver Urban Gardens operates and assists with over 90 community gardens and small parks in the Denver area, as well as an urban community farm in Aurora. DUG operates as an umbrella group supporting a wide variety of community garden activities and events. The organization was founded in 1985. DUG is supported by municipal, county, and federal grants, as well as grants and donations from charitable foundations, corporations, and individuals.

Social functions

DUG offers support to community gardeners in the form of seeds, compost, gardening materials and equipment, funding, garden planning and construction, classes, and community events.[1] 22 of DUG's community gardens are located at Denver schools.
