Delaware & Hudson #16 is a PA-4 locomotive rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen in 1974 from an ALCO PA-1.[1] It is one of only 6 surviving PAs.

The rebuilt locomotives pulled the Adirondack[1] for two years, until March 1977 when Amtrak stopped using Delaware and Hudson Railway equipment and introduced the Turboliners. Attempts to use the locomotive in freight service were disappointing and it was leased to MBTA Commuter Rail.[1] Its last revenue run in the United States took place on October 13, 1978. The locomotive was sold to the Ferrocarril Chihuahua al Pacífico, where it was run until mechanical failure.

D&H 16 was bought by Doyle L. McCormack and donated to the Smithsonian Institution.[2] Plans are to cosmetically restore the locomotive as the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway PA-1 that it was rebuilt from and to display it in the National Museum of American History.[2] As of 2011, however, it is stored out of sight in Portland, Oregon.[3]

The locomotive is named Marvin A. Davis after the Delaware and Hudson's Senior Rail Foreman.[1]
