Since joining Bloomberg in 1999, Bolton has reported from the New York Stock Exchange, the NASDAQ, been recognized for outstanding field work and has anchored a variety of programs.[2] Bolton has also been the face of Bloomberg News for affiliate reporting in cities such as New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, San Antonio and Salt Lake.
During the 2007/08 credit crisis, Bolton appeared on a regular basis as a contributor for CBS’ “The Early Show”. She can still be seen often on the Saturday program and appears regularly on ABC’s “News Now” channel.
In recent months, Bolton has interviewed Wall Street players, government official, key decision makers and sports personalities such as PIMCO strategic adviser Richard Clarida, Caryle Group Co-Founder David Rubenstein, Sam Zell, Roger Altman, Wilbur Ross, Nokia CFO Rick Simonson, President Barack Obama’s chief economist Christina Romer, Congressman Elijah Cummings, Martina Navratilova, Billie Jean King and Terrell Owens.
Prior to joining Bloomberg, Bolton worked for two international banks in institutional equity sales, selling European equities to US portfolio managers. Deirdre was born in New York and raised in Bucks County, PA. She graduated from University of Iowa with a dual English and French literature degree. She completed her Master's Degree in French literature in Paris through NYU. Bolton lives on the Upper West side with her husband and two boys.
Career
Prior to joining Bloomberg in 1999, Ms. Bolton started her career in banking, selling European equities to US portfolio managers. She worked for La Caisse de Depots (CDC North America) and Societe Generale, both in France and in the US.
While working at Bloomberg, Bolton has covered the markets for the UK-, European-, and US-based audiences from the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ. Bolton has been the face of Bloomberg News for affiliate reports in Pittsburgh, Raleigh, San Antonio, Salt Lake City, and New York City, among other cities.
She is a frequent guest on CBS's The Early Show.[3]
