MGM Grand Macau

The MGM Grand Macau is a 35-storey, 600-room casino resort with approximate investment amount USD $1.25 billion in Macau which officially opened its doors on December 18th, 2007 at 10:50 p.m. local time, to thousands of guests eager to experience the burgeoning gaming destination's latest grand resort. Under a sub concession approved by the Macau government, the project is owned and operated through a 50/50 partnership between MGM Mirage and Pansy Ho Chiu-king, the daughter of Stanley Ho. The sub concession is one of several examples of new construction following the end of the government-granted monopoly held for decades by Stanley Ho.

Phase One of casino floor accounts for 20,620 square metre spreading over two levels and wrapping around the Grande Praça; with 385 table games and 888 slot machines. The property include a convention space of 1,452 square metre including The Grand Ballroom of 807 square metre for business meetings, social events and wedding; thirteen restaurants, and partner with Six Senses Spa to have a space of 2,720 square metre that includes 12 treatment areas.

Continuing the tradition of MGM MIRAGE in featuring top-class culinary talents, MGM GRAND Macau has provided a varitey of restaurant outlets with the combination of international tastes and influences. There are also signature bars and lounges of varying themes and moods for guests to relax in. There are 12 food and beverage outlets in total.

Soon after Wynn Macau expansion plans became public, the MGM Grand Macau announced its own plans for expansion, only weeks after the project was publicly launched. The expansion will add 4400 square metre to the casino floor's 2nd level. The additional space allows 70 more tables game and 240 slot machines added. Another feature that they have is a new Portuguese garden under a conservatory which promises to be a good tourist attraction. This casino will also be connected to the future Mandarin Oriental hotel, which is expected to open close to the Nape waterfront district in 2009 as Macau's second Mandarin Oriental property.
