Deinandra increscens (syn. Hemizonia increscens) is a species of flowering plant in the aster family known by the common name grassland tarweed. It is endemic to California, where it is common and widespread, occurring in many types of habitat.

There are two or three subspecies of the plant:

• D. i. ssp. increscens grows along the California Central Coast and the coastal mountain ranges.
• D. i. ssp. villosa (Gaviota tarweed) is a rare and endangered species^[1] endemic to Santa Barbara County, where it is known only from an area near Gaviota.^[2][3]
