Deer-resistant landscaping

Deer-resistant landscaping (colloquially called deeroscaping[1]) is landscape design with the goal of creating a deer-resistant landscape.
Techniques
There are several considerations when deeroscaping.
Plants
First is to choose deer resistant plants. Other techniques include hiding susceptible plants inside deer resistant plants and combining repellent plants with susceptible plants. Special attention is given to discouraging deer at gateways and edges of the landscape.
Repellents
If animal repellents are used they should be alternated every two months as deer will begin to immune themselves to the offensiveness of the repellent.
Fences
The best way to keep deer out of the landscape is to enclose the area with an eight foot fence. If a lower fence is used, then plant a backdrop behind the fence; deer rarely jump over a fence if they cannot see the other side.
