Deepshikha (Dee) Datta is a biotechnology entrepreneur and venture capitalist.
Dr. Datta has worked in biomedical research, biotechnology startups, venture capital, business development and investment banking. Most recently Dr. Datta was an investor at the Column Group and a consultant to TPG Biotech. Previously she worked at DE Shaw & Co. and in healthcare investment banking at JP Morgan. Dr. Datta is a co-founder of Allozyne, a biotech startup developing next generation biologics.[1][2][3]
Dr. Datta is also an accomplished classical dancer specializing in Odissi, a classical Indian dance form.[4][5]
Background
Dr. Datta attended University of Delhi where she received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. In 2003 she graduated with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) where she worked with Prof. Steve Mayo, Prof. William Goddard and Prof. David Tirrell. She graduated with an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2009.
