Plot
Arena centers on a young man (Kellan Lutz) who has just lost his pregnant wife, Lori (Nina Dobrev) in a horrible car accident and is kidnapped and forced into a savage world of a modern gladiator arena, where men fight to the death for entertainment of the online masses. Jackson orchestrates the games, overseeing them in his computer lair with the help of two ladies who see to his every desire.

Development
The film has a budget of around $10 million. Filming began in May 2010 in Louisiana. The script was written by Michael Hultquist, Robert Martinez, and Tony Giglio.
Lost's Daniel Dae Kim has booked a role in the action thriller, starring opposite Samuel L. Jackson and Kellan Lutz in the Motion Picture Corporation of America production.
According to Heat Vision, Visual effects veteran Jonah Loop is making his directorial debut with the indie film.
Kim is playing a fellow prisoner, an artist who happened to be a master of kendo (samurai-style sword fighting), a skill that comes in handy when he competes for his life and his wife's.
