Dr. Dean L. Bresciani Dr. Dean L. Bresciani was named the 14th president of North Dakota State University (NDSU) on May 24, 2010, by the State Board of Higher Education.[1] NDSU, with an enrollment of more than 14,400 students, is located in Fargo, North Dakota.[2]
A native of Napa Valley, California, Bresciani came to NDSU from Texas A&M University in College Station, where he was vice president for student affairs from 2004 to 2008. Earlier in his career, Bresciani held student affairs administrative positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Bresciani earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Humboldt State University, Arcata, California; master’s degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio; and doctorate in higher education finance, with a doctoral minor in economics, from the University of Arizona, Tucson.
He has held national leadership positions, such as past Council Chair of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities and member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators board of directors. He has professional affiliations with the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, Educause, and the National Association of College and University Business Officers.
