Dayanand Education Society was established in 1961 to impart higher education in arts, commerce, science, law and pharmacy to the students of this rural area.

This institution has consistently produced State level toppers in the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune and in the Common Entrance Test for four-year Bachelor's degree courses in Medical and Engineering fields. Once again Dayanand proved that have capicity to produce intellectuals. This years MH CET 2010 result shows that Student form the science faculty has scored the 199/200 marks and become first in maharashtra state. 3 students scored out of out marks in mathematics. 1 each in physics and chemistry.

The majority of the Chartered Accountants and entrepreneurs of Latur district belongs to this college. The college has different courses from XI to Ph.D. level. The college is reputed for innovative academic programmes in commerce education. The college is an authorized centre of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for CA examinations.

Research Centre of Commerce and Management

The college has an approved research centre in Commerce and Management Science for providing guidance to the research scholars. At present Dr.Atmaram palnitkar is the principal and Dr.Kunal Badade is the vice-principal of the college. This college is a recognised research centre of Commerce and Management. Dr.Palnitkar and Dr. Kunal Badade are recognised research guides of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University and Y.C.M.O.University, Nashik. Dr.Brijmohan Dayma's application to be the research guide is under process at S.R.T.M. University, Nanded.

Workshop on 'Gateway to SET/NET'

The college conducted a State level Workshop on 'Gateway to NET/SET exams'on May 1, 2010.

Awards and Accolades

Earlier this college was affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Auranagabad, but since the formation of a University in Nanded now its affiliated to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University.
