The UCCU Center, formerly known as the David O. McKay Events Center, is a 8,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Orem, Utah. It was built in 1996 and is home to the Utah Valley University Wolverines basketball team. It is the home of Utah Jazz's NBA Development League affiliate team, the Utah Flash and in 2009 will be home of the American Indoor Football Association's Utah Valley Thunder. That July, it will also be home to AIFA Championship Bowl III.
The arena was also home of the now-defunct Professional Indoor Football League team, the Utah Catzz.
On January 19, 2010 Utah Valley University announced its plans to sell the naming rights to the David O. McKay Events Center at the request of the donor family to help the university raise money.[1] At the same time Utah Valley University named its education building after David O. McKay. On August 30, 2010 Utah Community Credit Union announced that it had acquired the naming rights to the Event Center.[2]
