Daniel Wesley (athlete)

Daniel Wesley is a former Canadian paralympian wheelchair athlete. Hailing from New Westminster, British Columbia, Wesley lost a leg following a 1973 accident where he fell under a freight train. An avid skier before the accident, Wesley began pursuing wheelchair athletics and later skiing.[1] After finishing fourth in the 1991 London Marathon men's wheelchair race, Wesley won the 1992 race in a close finish, setting a new course record of 1:51:42.[2] He won two gold and two silver medals in his first Paralympics, the 1988 summer games, and went on to compete in the 1992 summer paralympics and the 1994, 1998, and 2002 winter games, winning a further two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in skiing.[1]
