Divisions
Dancing Turtle Records was launched in 2005, with a remit to produce music from emerging artists around the world. It has released music from artists coming from countries including Japan, West Papua, Brazil, Italy and the UK. The label's management division looks after the interests of The Lani Singers and Inkliing.[1]
With a growing demand from companies seeking development and management of their digital presences, Dancing Turtle Media was launched in 2008. Acting as a digital production and social media agency, its client roster includes music group Asian Dub Foundation, the music festival Green Man, dub music label On-U Sound,[2] music website DJhistory, as well as Strawberry Fields in Ethiopia. The agency's audio-visual department has worked with companies including the BBC and Channel 4 News.
Dancing Turtle Films was launched in 2010, seeking to produce films that explore and expose current affairs stories that are not usually picked up by mainstream media. The company's first production, an undercover documentary called Forgotten Bird of Paradise, was awarded the Best Documentary prize at the 2011 Dam Short Film Festival in the United States.[3]
