Dan W. Lee

Dan W. Lee Dan W. Lee, (ASID, AIA, ASID, AAHID) is a Dallas based architect and interior designer within the industry of healthcare design. He holds an architecture degree from the University of Kentucky and a master of interior architecture from the University of Illinois. Lee is a national proponent of Evidence Based Design (EBD) as a set of design principals which address effective infection control in healthcare facilities.

Career

With 35 years of experience, Lee has served as Interior Architecture Principal in largest healthcare architecture firm in America as well as a Director of Interior Architecture for the largest hospital system in Dallas/Fort Worth market. Today he manages his namesake design firm, Lee Design Group, PLLC.

He is a Founding Member of the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID) and has served as National President.^[1] Also, he served as the National Corporate Forum Advisor for IIDA, served on the Board of Directors for Texas Association of Interior Designers, is active as a member of the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health, and is active on both a local and national level with ASID.

Lee is a Board member of the Texas Association for Interior Design which serves as the professional legislative watch guard for interior decorators in Texas. He has also served on the Board of Trustees for Richardson Regional Medical Center. In addition, Lee has taught design at Texas Women’s University, Denton, Texas, and at El Centro College, Dallas, Texas. He also serves on the editorial board for Medical Construction and Design magazine.

Recognition/Awards

Lee was recognized by then Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert for his contributions (via Lee Design Group) to architecture and design. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 – April 1, 2010 were proclaimed as “Construction Expo” days in Dallas, TX.^[2]
