Dan Staley is an American screenwriter and television producer. He is currently an executive producer of Disney Channel’s original series Good Luck Charlie.

Staley began his career in advertising, working as a copywriter at J. Walter Thompson and Deutsch Inc.[1] in New York. He subsequently won the Clio and One Show Gold, the highest creative awards in the advertising industry.[2]

His transition to television was equally successful. He worked on the final four seasons of the NBC sitcom Cheers. He wrote 14 episodes for the show [3] and eventually became co-executive producer. He was nominated for an Emmy for his work on the hit series.[4] Staley went on to create numerous pilots and several series including George and Leo, Love & Money and Men, Women & Dogs. In 2009. he wrote an episode of the British sitcom My Family.

Born and raised in Southern California, Staley is a graduate of Yale University where he studied History and graduated with honors.
