Damschroder Rock

Damschroder Rock (85°38′S 69°14′W / 85.633°S 69.233°W / -85.633; -69.233) is a conspicuous rock outlier, 1,595 m, at the end of a snow-covered spur extending westward for 2.5 nautical miles (4.6 km) from central Pecora Escarpment, Pensacola Mountains. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1956-66. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Gerald H. Damschroder, construction mechanic at Plateau Station, winter 1966.
