Damnably (UK Label)

Damnably is a small, independent organisation, based in London, which organises performances and tours for musicians, podcasts music and video via its website,[1] and releases CDs and records.

Its constituency is associated with the cultural legacy of the late John Peel. The organisation initially acquired its name and impetus through promotion of a fundraising 'John Peel Day,' in 2006. This event has grown to the extent that the 2010 event involved 30 acts and 20 promoters.[2]

The musicians that Damnably has worked with include many international artists whose work was featured on Peel's radio programmes (e.g. Shonen knife, Chris Brokaw, Geoff Farina, Julie Doiron, Dick Dale, David Grubbs, PW Long) but Damnably has also championed the work of British and European musicians (e.g. Spraydog, Lonelady, MJ Hibbett and the Validators, and Lazarus Clamp).
