DECA Queen's Established 2007 Type Undergraduate Business Club Chairperson Robert Hoy, Cherie Tsang Students 120 Location Kingston, Ontario, Canada Campus Queen's University Affiliations Queen's Commerce Society Website decaqueens.ca DECA Queen’s is a chapter in an international association of business students who compete in professional development conferences and case competitions. It was ratified as an External Competition under the Queen's Commerce Society in 2007[1]
The association states that is helps students develop skills in case analysis, marketing concepts, presentation skills, and problem-solving skills in a year-long process involving training sessions, workshops, and competitions.
Every January DECA Queen's sends delegates to the DECA U Provincial Conference, where students can earn a spot in the annual International Career Development Conference (ICDC); in 2009 two DECA Queen's student representatives competed successfully in Anaheim, California[1][dead link].
DECA Queen's operates under the umbrella organization of DECA U.
DECA Queen's Invitational
The Queen’s Invitational Conference is an annual three-day competition hosted at the Queen’s School of Business each year by the DECA Queen’s Executive. It is attended by most business schools in Ontario.[2]
The 2011 DECA Queen's Invitational is scheduled for the weekend of November 19, 2011.
