Boulenger, 1896Cylindrophis isolepis, or the Jampea Island pipe snake, is a species of snake in the Cylindrophiidae family.[1] The specific epithet, isolepis, meaning "equal scale", refers to the fact that in this species the ventral scales are the same as the dorsal scales.
Geographic range
It is endemic to Indonesia.[2]
Description
Dorsally black, each scale with a fine whitish edge. Ventrally two alternating series of large white blotches. Lower surface of tail orange.
Six upper labials, third and fourth entering the eye. No enlarged ventrals, 22 rows of scales around the body. Subcaudals 5.
The type specimen measures 43 cm (17 inches) in total length.[3]
