The Sag Harbor Customs House is an historic home and Customs House in Sag Harbor, New York. It was once the home and office of Henry Packer Dering, the first customs officer appointed in New York State under the new federal constitution by President George Washington.[1]
The house was built in 1765 and purshaxed by Dering in 1793.[1]
The house has been restored to the appearance it had in Mr. Dering's day and opened as a museum by the Society for the Preservation of Long Island Antiquities.
