Company Profile
Founded in January 2001, CrownPeak was the first on-demand (SaaS) web content management solution for global enterprises. Today, CrownPeak provides Cloud web content management (WCM) and web content optimization (WCO) solutions to hundreds of customers and thousands of business-critical web sites. Built for marketers by marketers, CrownPeak’s products and services enable organizations to optimize their web sites, measure and maximize business results. The company manages content for hundreds of Web sites, including sites for Skype, Kaiser Permanente, Moog, Nissan, ACE, MetLife/Alico and more.[1]
Services
CrownPeak Web Content Management is delivered as a software as a service through a decoupled Cloud architecture. This allows for greater scalability, security, integration and deployment speed when compared to other WCM delivery types like Installed or Open Source.[2]
AppExchange Application
CrownPeak Site Watch is an AppExchange application that enables Salesforce.com customers to monitor and search a user-defined collection of Web sites from directly within Salesforce.com. CrownPeak Site Watch is only available through the Salesforce.com AppExchange and appears as a tab that resides in Salesforce.com interface.[3]

CrownPeak's cloud web content management and optimization products allow enterprises to effectively manage their global websites.[4]

Security
CMS content management services can be accessed from any remote system with a Web browser and Internet access. With increases accessibility options rises increase in security threats. The CMS platform is composed of CrownPeak software running on Windows servers: a Microsoft IIS Web server and a Microsoft SQL database server. Multiple server pairs (CMS units) make up the CMS platform. Each customer is assigned to a shared CMS unit and granted exclusive access to their own content management environment and database instance. A combination of Web, database, and application security methods and practices insulate customers both from each other and from external attack.[5]
Web Browser Security
To access the CMS content management through a web interface, the customer’s browser must have JavaScript, VBScript, and session cookies enabled. Cookies used by the CMS application contain an RC5-encrypted timestamp, but do not hold any user credentials or session data. In other words, CMS does not store any sensitive information on the user’s system.
Web Server Security
Customers interface with Microsoft’s IIS Web server using a custom CrownPeak Internet Server API (ISAPI).
