- Crocus City Hall
-
Crocus City Hall (Ru. Крокус Сити Холл) is a concert hall in the north-west to MKAD, Myakinino, near Moscow. The building is constructed in memory of Russian-Azerbaijani singer Muslim Magomaev and owned by millionaire Aras Agalarov. The hall has 6200 seats.[1]
Controversy
On November 7, 2010 Agalarov dismissed Hall's director Irina Zavyalova. Russian media reported, that she "has not pleased the owner of hall".[2][3]
As the Crocus Hall is far from the center of Moscow, sometimes even singers are having problems to be there on time. In 2010, when Russian singer Zemfira spent 1,5 hours on the way to the Crocus Hall, she called the Hall with abusive words (meaning "the end of the world") after the concert and live recording started.[4][5]
