An unsuccessful youth graduate of Valencia CF, Castells spent most of his career in the third division, also having spells in the second with Polideportivo Ejido and Alicante CF (both ended in relegation).

Personal

Castells' younger brother, Marc, is also a footballer. He also represented Poli Ejido.
