Plot Summary
After Bear's death, Crispin and Troth are stuck in France's rural areas. Neither of them speak French or know anybody. They have little hope. They know their only chance is to somehow reach Iceland and live under the rule of no kings or lords. The journey to freedom is tough. Crispin is terrified and doesn't know if he can survive without Bear. He must decide what freedom truly is, why he wants it so much, and if it's worth the long journey of death and betrayal. Unfortunately, Crispin ends up letting go of his beloved friend Troth to a convent who wants a healer. But, he meets a new companion named Owen after falling for thieves mimicking musicians. Together, they escape from the thieves. Then, they meet fishermen who are from Iceland. Finally, they travel with them to Iceland. So Crispin's journey is finally complete.
Critical Response
Crispin: The End of Time received generally positive reviews from most critics. But, most critics agreed it wasn't as action packed and fun to read as the first two novels of the Crispin trilogy.
