The Creamed project, set up by the EGTC Euroregion Pyrenees-Mediterranean, focuses on creating synergies between business incubators of the regions of Midi-Pyrénées, Languedoc-Roussillon, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.
The project was approved by the Programming Committee of the Territorial Cooperation Programme of South-West Europe (INTERREG IV B SUDOE) and was granted close to 1.1 million Euros by the ERDF. Consequently, the Euroregion becomes the first EGTC exclusively constituted by regions that receives co-funding from the European Union.
In the context of the present economic crisis, Creamed provides networking opportunities for people in charge of business incubators and will give general support to business incubation. Furthermore, it will encourage start-up firms in their efforts to stimulate innovation and their internationalization.
Goals
The main goal of the project is to promote the attractiveness of the territory of the Euroregion and to organize in a coherent and complementary way the strategy for supporting the development of business incubators in the four member regions. The project partners are the Government of Catalonia, the network of business incubators of Midi-Pyrénées, Synersud France of Languedoc-Roussillon, and the ParcBIT Centre of the Balearic Islands.
Out of 223 applications for SUDOE co-funding of transnational European projects, only 28 of them, including Creamed, were accepted.
