C. calycina Peterm.[1]Crataegus × macrocarpa, is a hybrid between two species of hawthorn (Hawthorn), C. monogyna and C. rhipidophylla, both in series Crataegus[1]. It is sometimes confounded with C. × media[2], the hybrid between C. monogyna and C. laevigata.
Under the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature the name C. × macrocarpa covers all intermediate forms between the two parent species, including backcrosses.
