Cowm Clash

The Cowm Clash is an almost Olympic Distance triathlon which is organised by Rochdale Triathlon Club which is based in Rochdale, UK.

It consists of a 1.4 km swim in Cowm Reservoir, which is in Whitworth, Rochdale, a 200m run to the T1 transition and then a 42 km bike ride around the surrounding towns and villages which includes 5 sporting climbs and this is followed by a 9.2 km triple loop run of the reservoir including 3 climbs of the large earth dam.

The event is run annually usually in the month of June and has an event capacity of 125 people or relay teams.

The Clash as it is know is run under British Triathlon Association rules and BTA members receive a discount.

The organising committee consists of:

Jennie Brown - Jack Kershaw - Julie Burrows - Martin Kay - Scott Rennie - Graham Hann who are all long time members and established Triathletes.

The Clash is based at Whitworth Water Ski & Recreation Centre Cowm Brook House Cowm Reservoir Tong Lane Whitworth Rochdale Lancashire OL12 8BE
