- Cortex (browser extension)
-
Cortex is a a free Chrome browser extension, developed by Eric Wolf and Joey Primiani, which enables users to post to social media sites including Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook and Instapaper via a pop-up pie menu made available on all web pages.[1]
It was launched on 7 December 2010 and aimed to be the fastest way to share links, articles, videos, images, music to friends and family across the web.[citation needed] The service emphasizes its speed and user experience. Cortex has been widely noted[citation needed] for its unique user interface, which incorporates many ideas that founder Joey Primiani had which are generally uncommon,[citation needed] such as the use of pie menus. Experienced users use muscle memory without looking at the menu while selecting from it (see Fitts's law).[citation needed][1] [2] [3]
