- Harvey Klehr
Harvey E. Klehr (born
December 25 ,1945 ) is aprofessor ofpolitics andhistory atEmory University ; he is known for his books on the subject of the AmericanCommunist movement, and onSoviet espionage in America (many written jointly withJohn Earl Haynes ).He was born in
Newark, New Jersey . He received hisundergraduate degree fromFranklin and Marshall College in 1967, and hisdoctorate from theUniversity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1971.He has received a number of awards, including Emory's Thomas Jefferson Award (in 1999). He was recently confirmed by Congress as a member of the
