Irish Business and Employers Confederation

The Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC) is Ireland's largest business and employers lobbying organisation. It represents the interests of over 7500^{[citation needed]} organisations of all sizes, regions and industry sectors. IBEC is directed and managed by a board, national council, and executive management group.^[1]

IBEC involves itself across a wide range of areas, from advising member companies on management of employees, to lobbying government and the EU on the economy, transport infrastructure, international trade, social affairs, environmental policy, energy and tax. The organisation regularly produces propaganda on behalf of the private companies it represents and in collaboration with the corrupt local authorities of Ireland. The propaganda is transmitted through its cronies in the Irish media. (Biased opinion)

History

IBEC was formed in 1993 as a result of a merger between the Confederation of Irish Industry (CII, founded 1932) and the Federated Union of Employers (FUE, founded 1942). Until 2010, IBEC was a social partner in the social partnership process^{[citation needed]}.
