Colter Canyon Country United States State Wyoming County Teton Source - coordinates 43°56′34″N 110°46′04″W / 43.94278°N 110.76778°W [1] Mouth Jackson Lake - elevation 6,778 ft (2,066 m) [1] - coordinates 43°56′41″N 110°42′09″W / 43.94472°N 110.7025°W [1] Colter Canyon is located in Grand Teton National Park, in the U. S. state of Wyoming.[2] The canyon was formed by glaciers which retreated at the end of the last glacial maximum approximately 15,000 years ago, leaving behind a U-shaped valley.[3] Colter Canyon is north of Ranger Peak and the entrance to the canyon is along the northwestern shore of Jackson Lake.
