Collier Hills is an historic residential neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia. The neighborhood was founded in 1941. Collier Hills rests on the border between the Buckhead district of Atlanta and the Midtown district of Atlanta. Because of its desirable urban location, home prices in Collier Hills tend to be moderately to very high, ranging from $500,000 to over $700,000.
The area gets its name from the family whose homestead was broadly located in the southwest corner of the intersection of Peachtree St. and Collier Rd. Andrew Jackson Collier, a member of this family and early pioneer of the area, operated an antebellum grist mill off Tanyard Creek, near Collier Rd.[1]
A major Civil War battle took place in what is now Collier Hills as Confederate forces attacked forces led by General William T. Sherman in July 1864.
